Naval nuclear weapons at CFMETR Nanoose, 1965-2001
Dr. John M. Clearwater
The following list contains ships and submarines considered nuclear capable
or armed or powered, which used Nanoose range since 1965.
With each ship name is a notation on uncovered accidents or incidents: some
involving nuclear weapons or reactors. This information disproves the
Government's spurious claim that there have been no accidents at all.
[e.g. "SSN 713 Houston (Tomahawk) (radioactive spill 28/09/82) (snags
cable 14/06/89) (snags fishnet 16/06/89) (flooded 07/11/89) (The captain is
removed from command in 1989)" ]
1965
Canada-USA agreement on use of Nanoose is signed May 1965. There is no
surviving record of ships or torpedoes used that year.
